The useful and powerful Follow Course secures users’ travel by allowing them to plan routes before they start a journey to a new place. Users simply load tracks from bundled ezTour Planner and then travel along the pre-planned course accordingly. In addition, users can retrieve routes from the device’s history logs to follow courses. Furthermore, the reverse route capability in Follow Course assures users that they are on the right track by following the same route back. Information of ascent to next check point and distance between current location and next check point/ destination can be also displayed.
The TripStart automatically records first GPS fix location for Finder point, a helper guides users to find their way back to the starting point. Total 10 finder points can be saved for an elaborated trip or for personal guiding assistant for needs at different times and places.
The GPSport 260 comes with powerful software called ezTour Plus and ezTour Planner. The ezTour Plus, like its previous version, ezTour namely, synchronizes track logs with geo-tagged photos and displays them together on Google map. Plus, it helps users to track and analyze their fitness activities. The ezTour Plus calculates measurements such as time, distance, speed, altitude, and calories consumed. The information is displayed through charts, and can be exported to reports in Excel file format. As for ezTour Planner, it facilitates course planning prior to users’ outdoor adventures.
What also makes the GPSport 260 unique and surpassing its kinds is the capability to create QR Code image for current coordinates or POI/Way point. The generated QR Code which is a two-dimensional barcode format allows users to see their current locations and coordinates on Google Maps shown on their mobile devices, say mobile phone. Users’ mobile phone with built-in digital camera able to read QR code can decode location saved in QR code and converts it on Google map via internet connection.
Other features include 3D compass, barometric altimeter, and pedometer. The built-in 3D compass makes GPSport 260 a perfect gadget for users to know their direction even when there’s no satellite signals detected. Supporting both GPS altimeter and barometer altimeter, the GPSport 260 displays current altitude and detects altitude variation if users travel up and down. One of GPSport 260’s extra functions is to work as a pedometer for everyday exercise measurer and motivator either indoors or outdoors.
Featuring low power consumption, the GPSport 260 operates on a Li-ion 1050 mAh rechargeable battery and lasts up to 20 hours.
This GPSport 260 is waterproof in accordance with IPX 7 which means it can withstand accidental immersion in one meter of water for up to 30 minutes.
